Back in August 2016 Duncan Welgemoed came around to interview me for the Adelaide Review. He wanted to explore the way art and food intertwine in my life. How each inspires the other.
He came around on a wintery Friday evening when Adelaide had plunged into a blackout. Thankfully I had enough candles to light up my house, and luck had it that none of the dishes required anything more than a gas stove!
Such a wonderful evening and opportunity to cook for an inspiring chef and one of my dearest friends.
What was on the menu?
• Australian Scallops with a Mushroom Puree, Pancetta and Whiskey Cream
• Slow Braised Cider Duck leg with onions and Cauliflower puree
• Saffron and Red-wine Poached pears with home made Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
